As L.I.T. is a newly established organization, which is still in establishing itself, any donations are welcome.

LIT was first established with the personal savings of Lauren, a founding member and English teacher. As she only had limited resources, the income from nightly events has become the main form of financing the school.

The school has no form of sponsorship or grant funding and does not charge any of the students school fees, as newly arrived refugees usually have very limited funds.

Therefore, the income from nightly events is clearly not sufficient and we are in urgent need of financial assistance especially in the winter months when there are very few visitors to Dharamsala.

Let it be one rupee or one hundred dollars, it can make a difference in providing a brighter future for Tibet and Tibetans in exile.

Whilst we are in urgent need of teaching supplies, an office computer, printer, photocopier and schoolbooks, our most expensive cost is room charge.

Our room charge is approximately $350 USD a month, which includes all three teaching rooms, electricity and water. If we can secure the finances for this cost we will be able to continue to keep the Tibetan fire L.I.T.

As we are a non-profit volunteer based organisation our staff members are willing to sacrifice a salary if we can maintain the room charge, as their first priority is to gaining human rights in Tibet and believe that keeping our doors open is an important way we can do so at the grassroots level.

So any support in improving our organisation is welcome.
